Rockstar Games clearly put an impressive amount of thought and attention into even the smallest details in its latest title "Grand Theft Auto V." The game allows users to play golf and tennis, makes radio announcements wishing people a good morning or good night depending on the time of day. The only thing more impressive than the game's attention to detail is probably its many Easter eggs. Below is a list of our top six favorite Easter eggs that wink to other video games, courtesy of IGN.
Grove Street Friends: Although it's a wink to another "Grand Theft Auto" game, there is a mission in the "GTA V" story called Hood Safari and it takes palce on Grove Street, the home of the protagonist CJ in the game "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas." When you turn the corner onto Grove Street itself you'll see characters that look almost exactly like CJ, Big Smoke and Sweet ride by on bicycles.
Max Payne Look Alike: If you shop at a suburban clothing store you can purchase a very goofy-looking Hawaiian shirt. Some users have found that if you couple that shirt with a bald head a bushy bearded Michael, complete with aviators, the result is a Michael that looks strikingly similar to Max Payne from the third game of that franchise. Red Dead Redemption The Book: If you look around Franklin's Vinewood Hills home you'll find a book titled "Red Dead," with J. Marston listed as the book's author. This is a wink to another Rockstar title similar in style to GTA but set in the old west. Red Dead Redemption's main protagonist was, you guessed it, John Marston.
Master Chief Street Performers: You can find Republican Space Ranger street performers near the game's take on the famous Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. When you do, you'll notice that the performers look very similar to everyone's favorite space soldier Master Chief from the "Halo" games.
Subtle Clap Trap Nod: OK, this one is a stretch but when you look close, it's unmistakable. Some construction sites in the game have machines that feature the exact same paint job as "Borderlands'" loveable oaf-bot Clap Trap, complete with the white stripe and eye chamber.
GTA 4's Nico Bellic: The "GTA IV" protagonist gets an early reference in the game when Lester and Michael are talking about potential professionals to pull off the jewelry heist. However, one that many people miss happens at one point in the stor mode when Michael's son Jimmy is browsing Nico's LifeInvader page. Roman is on his friends list.
