IPad Air Vs. iPad Mini Specs, Price: Which Apple Tablet Will Give You More For You Money?

Apple unveiled their new iPad Air and iPad Mini during their announcement on Tuesday, but which product give you the best use for your money?

The answer: depends on what you use the product for, assuming you're purchasing the tablet because of Apple products sync well together and it's your only tablet option. If you're a casual user who wants the tablet as an e-reader or surfing the web while commuting to work, the iPad Mini is for you.

However, if you describe yourself an app user who incorporates any and all facets of life, including work (if you're a teacher or musician, you swear by your iPad) than you'll want to splurge on the larger, lighter version of the iPad.

If you'd describe yourself as neither, then you'll probably want to base your decision on specs for your buck, and the iPad Air wins that debate.

Check out the iPad Air specs below, courtesy of tech media site CNET:

1. 9.7-inch Air with Retina Display weighs just a pound.

2. New A7 chip inside makes it "8 times faster than before," which is also the same 64-bit chip found in the iPhone 5S, containing a M7 motion co-processor. (Better processor=Better Graphics. Keep that in mind when purchasing a tablet.)

3. iPad Air is "72 times faster than the original iPad in GPU performance.".

4. Wi-Fi capabilities and wireless technology options

5. 10 hour of battery life (consistent with the old iPad)

The iPad Air is priced at $499 for the 16GB, Wi-Fi version and will increase depending on how much memory you want.

Now for the iPad Mini specs:

1. 7.9-inch screen "looks even sharper than the full-size iPad Air"

2. 10 hour battery life

3. A7 chip with four times faster CPU than original iPad mini

4. Retina display

5. Wi-Fi capabilities and wireless technology options

The iPad Mini will cost $299 for the 16GB. Both tablets will be released on Nov. 1.
