Actress Minnie Driver was granted a temporary restraining order against her 74-year-old neighbor, TMZ reported. The "About A Boy" actress went before a Los Angeles Superior court judge after a series of tense run-ins with her aggressive neighbor, Daniel Perelmutter.
Perelmutter had confronted Driver several times and even approached her on her driveway and told her to "f--k and die," according to court documents obtained by TMZ. Perelmutter allegedly jumped in front of Driver's car twice, causing her to slam on her brakes to avoid hitting him.
During the more recent incident, Driver was with her three children. When she got out of the car to confront Perelmutter, he allegedly cursed at her and blew cigar smoke in her children's faces.
Driver, an Academy Award-nominated actress, has a 7-year-old son Henry from a previous relationship and she cares for her boyfriend Neville Wakefield's two teenage sons, according to the Daily Mail.
Perelmutter admitted that there is ongoing tension between him and Driver due to a land dispute. But he claimed that Driver has been aggressive toward him as well, and accused the actress of trying to run him over with her car.
A judge ordered Perelmutter to stay at least 15 yards away from Driver and her children until at least Jan. 16 when the case will be reevaluated in a hearing, Contact Music reported.
