Dave Grohl: Animal Drum Battle Of Epic Proportions On 'The Muppets' (VIDEO)

Rock star Dave Grohl went head-to-head against his musical nemesis, Animal, in a drum-off after he guest starred on the latest episode of ABC's "The Muppets," Rolling Stone reported. The epic drum battle between the veteran Muppet rocker and the Foo Fighters frontman lasted less than a minute, with both musicians giving it their all as they vied for the title of best drummer.

"I've been waiting years for this, Animal," Grohl, 46, told his Muppet musical counterpart before the drumming duel commenced. "Now we see who best!" Animal snarled before kicking things off with a drum solo, complete with wild head-banging.

After Animal finished his set, Grohl gently tapped his drumstick on one of his cymbals. "Oh, what's that, a bell? Time for school," he said, smack-talking his opponent before hitting the skins with his own drum solo.

The former Nirvana drummer and Animal took turns trying to out-do each other, and the drum-off got progressively more fierce as both drummers flailed their drumsticks with abandon, knocking over parts of their respective drum kits in the process.

After they each came to a halt, they looked at each other and breathlessly said in unison, "You win."

Also featured as a guest on the episode was Hollywood heartthrob Joseph Gordon Levitt, who performed a duet with Animal's castmate Miss Piggy, Consequence of Sound reported.
