Marvel Studios' president of production Kevin Feige has confirmed cast announcements for "Ant-Man" will be announced by the end of this year.
In an interview with tech news site IGN, Feige explained Edgar Wright's film's script is currently being "tweaked" with writer Joe Cornish.
"We're crewing up and prepping," Feige said. "There should be cast announcements, probably before the end of the year."
Feige added "Ant-Man" won't be just another super-hero movie, but rather a heist film.
"I think it will be very Edgar Wright in tone, but I think it's a disservice to Edgar to just say, 'Oh, it's a comedy," as we're often asked about," Feige said. "He wants to do something very unique with it. In the way that Alan did something very unique in the Dark World. And Edgar, early on going back years and years when he first was pitching it, pitched it as much as a heist movie as anything else."
There are two actors who are rumored to be up for the lead role of Ant-Man: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd. Multiple reports say the film's director is looking for an "average-Joe" kind of guy, not a muscler guy like Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor.
Feige also spoke about the upcoming movie "Doctor Strange," a film Levitt is also been reportedly linked to. However, what the Marvel Studios' president of production had to say about the film wasn't exactly telling of what's to come.
"It's no secret that the supernatural angle, the angle of alternate and parallel dimensions, we have not done in any of the films, and is not only a big part of the Doctor Strange comics," Feige said. "But also a big part of the Marvel Universe that we haven't explored yet. So, I love the notion of tapping into all of that through Strange one day."
