Just when you thought the bad Jahlil Okafor news was done and we could focus on his basketball career there comes another video. The Philadelphia 76ers won their first game of the season on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers and instead of being able to celebrate finally winning a game they have to deal with another fighting video from their young star center that TMZ Sports released.
By now it is pretty common knowledge that Okafor has been in the news for all of the wrong reasons lately. The first thing was him being involved in a fight outside a club in Boston the night before Thanksgiving, then there was a report that he was in an altercation that ended with a gun being pointed at him and finally there was the report of him speeding over a bridge and being stopped by the cops. There was also a report that Okafor tried to use a fake ID when he went out but he has vehemently denied that.
The good news, if you want to call it that, is that Okafor was not involved in a new incident in this newly released video. This video reportedly takes place just moments after the first brawl on the night before Thanksgiving. In the video you can hear Okafor going back and forth with a heckler exchanging insults. People in his crew tried their best told hold the 6 foot-11 center back but it did not work as he eventually broke free and started to throw punches.
One of the hecklers involved was knocked out in the street and suffered gashes on his face. In the video it isn't clear who threw the punch but it was reportedly Okafor who knocked the heckler out. Both situations are being investigated by Boston PD but as of right now Okafor has not been charged and the 76ers haven't released a statement regarding the second video.
There were reports going around that Okafor would bring a bodyguard with him from now on when he goes out but he has denied those reports. Okafor is reportedly considering using a bodyguard from now on but nothing has been concretely decided upon.
