Before we get into tonight's episode of "Survivor: Second Chance," we just need to mention that last week's two episodes will go down in "Survivor" history. The Tribal Councils were the ultimate blindsides and had even die-hard "Survivor" fans' jaws dropping to the floor.
During the first Tribal Council, Jeremy pulled out one of his two hidden immunity idols out of nowhere and gave it to Fishbach, saving him from elimination and proving that his alliance is strong. Since nobody knew Jeremy had any idols, this came as a complete shock to everyone, including Fishbach, and he could not have been more grateful that he saved him from going home and instead, Ciera was eliminated. Unfortunately for Fishbach, he could only be saved for so long, and even his advantage couldn't save him in the end. His long fight to try to get Joe out, now that he had finally lost his first immunity challenge, came back to bite him in the butt as he was completely blindsided and sent home during the most dramatic and shocking Tribal Council of the season. Even Fishbach had no choice but to congratulate his former contestants on playing such a good and evil game.
In the preview for tonight's episode, the shock and emotions still left from the double episode remained as something major seems to happen. With Spencer, Abi-Maria, Jeremy, Kimmi, Joe, Keith, Kelley and Tasha remaining, alliances seem to be out the window, and anybody could win at this point, but what happens tonight may throw the whole game out of whack.
First, the contestants receive visits from their loved ones, which is one of the most highly anticipated and heartwarming "Survivor" traditions. Even though the contestants only get to see their family members for a few minutes, it's always an emotional moment for everyone. Since Jeremy has been wondering the entire season how his pregnant wife Val is doing, and what the sex of their baby is, his visit is an extra special one.
In an exclusive sneak peek video for tonight's episode, which People Magazine got a hold of, you see Val running to Jeremy and him unable to hold back tears. As she hugs him, she whispers the sex of their unborn baby to him, which is a boy, and it's an emotional moment for everybody. "I knew it," is all Jeremy can say to her. "Val said it's a boy," he then says in emotional a one-on-one interview. "I'm gonna have a son. That's wild."
The second half of the episode takes a turn for the worst, though, as the remaining castaways go from being possibly the happiest they've been since arriving to the most terrified, as one member seems to get extremely injured. The clip is highly edited, so it's hard to tell who gets hurt during the immunity challenge, but based off the shaking hand that they show as you hear host Jeff Probst calling for medical attention, it is definitely a white male. Given that Spencer, Joe and Keith are the only three white males remaining, it has to be one of them.
Based off of the clip, it looks like Tasha's statue is the one that falls and Spencer is standing next to her, so that makes it seem as though it could be him, according to Gossip and Gab. But then when they show Probst, it appears he is standing over a green station, and Spencer was not on a green station, but Joe was. Keith's station was never shown, so it could be either of them. It really could be any of these three players, and only time will tell, but hopefully it isn't serious enough to take any of them out of the game because we'd hate to see any of them go. To have your second chance ruined because of an injury would be tough to accept.
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly following last week's episode, Probst couldn't stop gushing over how incredible this season has been so far, and even weighed in on the family visits and injury a little.
"I am so happy you said this season just elevated from a good season to a great season because I feel the same way," he said. "These players should all be in the 'Survivor' Hall of Fame. We've never had a group play this hard and it comes on the heels of 'White Collar, Blue Collar, No Collar, which I thought was another outstanding season. So yes, next week the loved ones come and it's pretty doggone emotional. I think I welled up just a wee bit. And I won't say if we have an evacuation but we do have a medical situation and it comes as a result of effort. Pushing a body so hard that it just stops."
