Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis has reiterated that he is not going to St. Louis or Santa Clara, and that it is Los Angeles or Oakland for the Raiders, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.
Rams owner Stan Kroenke reportedly offered a partnership to the San Diego Chargers or Raiders to join him in his Inglewood project. "I have an equitable partner. It's Dean Spanos," said Davis in response to the partnership with Kroenke, via Rapoport's Twitter account.
The Raiders and Chargers have already hired the chairman and chief executive of the Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger, to lead their proposed stadium project in Carson. Davis seems adamant that it's either staying in Oakland or Los Angeles, and that he certainly does not want to join the San Francisco 49ers at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara. This past September, Davis stated that he and the Raiders organization had spent 10 years in discussion with the city of Oakland, but that they don't even have a parcel of land to build a new stadium, according to Tim Kawakami of the Mercury News.
The Raiders are expected to apply for relocation this upcoming January, and a date of Jan. 12 has been set in Houston, according to Rapoport. Colts owner Jim Irsay stated that there is a leaning within the committee to have two teams in L.A., but that that does not mean that a third team will be blocked, according to Rapoport. "It's hard to see one of the proposals as getting 24 votes," said Irsay, via Rapoport's Twitter account.
While there is uncertainty as to which teams, or if any teams, will get the 24 required votes to relocate to L.A., one thing is for sure, which is that the Raiders will either be in L.A. or Oakland in 2016.
