Marvel's Agents of Shield: Are We Expecting Too Much From The Show?; Why The Ratings Keep Dropping

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” took another dip in ratings Tuesday night.

According to EW.com, the ABC show had 7.1 million viewers on Tuesday with a 2.7 18-49 demo rating.

As the website points out the show has been dropping off continuously since it’s huge debut in late September.

So as EW’s James Hibberd asks, is it because there is no real Superhero ?

A month ago I suggested not having a superhero may prove to be a problem for the series. The show came in with “The Avengers” fanfare and many fans expecting it to be similar to the blockbuster hit.

However, was it right for fans to expect this? There were no signs that “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” would be the same as “The Avengers”.

For example, Joss Whedon said his small screen project wouldn’t affect his blockbuster movie at all. Due to this statement from Whedon, fans may not get the heavy Avengers presence they might have anticipated.

Now, I’ve said before this show is a good one. There’s reason to tune in every weekend and watch what shenanigans Coulson and his team will get into next. The characters are also slowly beginning to come together as a group.

So if this is a good show, should we expect more? The answer is yes.

We know Thor or Iron Man aren’t going to be permanent members of Coulson’s team. However, when the name Marvel is in your title, you’re almost not allowed to be a normal show.

If Whedon and his team want to see better ratings, they might start by doing some superhero cameo. Again, since Marvel is in your title, you have a lot to chose from. Who would you want to see on Tuesday nights? (Comment Below)
