Whoopi Goldberg is on her way to Wonderland.
The veteran actress will voice the wife of the punctual and mysterious White Rabbit (voiced by John Lithgow), according to TVLine.com.
Goldberg is no stranger to storybook-type roles. She played role of Shenzi the hyena in “The Lion King” and the toy octopus Stretch in “Toy Story 3”.
We will meet the White Rabbit’s wife in Episode 8. She will appear as part of a flashback into the past of the glasses-wearing bunny.
This could be a good thing since I currently don’t really like the rabbit. He seemed fairly cool at first but the fact he’s a snitch kind of rubbed me the wrong way.
However, iIn a recent interview with EOnline, Lithgow said viewers may grow fond of the Red Queen’s furry informant.
"The White Rabbit is devious and not to be trusted, but the things that motivate him I think are understandable," Lithgow explained to EOnline.
"I think that people ultimately will really like this character," he added.
If I were guess why the Rabbit is reporting to the queen, I’d say it has something to do with his wife. The queen has probably captured her and is threatening death. If this happens to be the case, then I may be less inclined to root against the rabbit.
In tonight’s episode, Alice and the Knave will travel into a world under Wonderland which the Knave calls "the Underland". This trip will include a run-in with some not-so-friendly strangers and, according to this sneak peek, a lovely introduction to Jafar.
“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” airs Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC.
