Daniel Radcliffe's original "Harry Potter" screen test has finally come to light, and it is adorable. The video features a giggling Radcliffe as he read line from the first Potter film, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."
In the audition tape, a young Radcliffe is seen running line's with someone off screen is heard reading the lines of Hagrid. In the scene Harry and Hagrid discuss the Norwegian Ridgeback dragon egg that the half giant received in the film. The second scene that Radcliffe read was a little darker than the first, and showed the boy-who-lived as he talked about his dead mother and father.
The clip was released when "Harry Potter" is starting to make its way back into the mainstream with the forthcoming spin-off series, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and the London West End play, "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child." The play is being billed as the eight story in the "Harry Potter" series and was co-written by J.K. Rowling.
Radcliffe previously opened up about how he thought it would be "very weird" to see another actor besides himself play Harry, as HNGN previous reported.
"I'm getting asked a lot, 'Would you play him?'" Radcliffe said while promoting his latest film. "And I'm like, 'No.' Because I've done it. But it would be very weird to see someone else play him."
