The new GoPro camera isn't as hot a seller as the company originally hoped.
The GoPro Hero4 Session, which was originally released at a price of $399, has once again seen a price cut. The camera is now being sold at $199, according to Tech Crunch. It's good news for consumers, but not so good news for the company itself.
The GoPro Hero4 Session is not only waterproof, but the smallest of the cameras available from the company, CNET reported.
However, competition is very high. Polaroid has a similar camera on the market called the Polaroid Cube, and it's priced at a mere $150, according to The Times Gazette.
The price of the Hero4 was cut $100 in September after disappointing sales. It was also apparent that another GoPro model, the Hero4 Silver, was more popular. And considering it had more features, while also being priced the same, price cuts for the former were imminent.
Stocks for the company have been decreasing steadily, according to Tech Crunch. Revenue also fell below the targeted marker this last quarter, The Times Gazette noted.
GoPro currently has six cameras on the market and their prices range from $129 to $499.
