President Barack Obama delivered a speech Sunday night that aimed to ease the fears of American citizens and reassure them that the United States government is on top of the war on radical Islamic terrorism, according to the Conservative Tribune. The speech came shortly after the attacks in San Bernardino that are believed to have been fueled by radical Islamic beliefs, as previously reported by HNGN.
During the speech, Obama claimed that for the past seven years he has "confronted this evolving threat each morning in my intelligence briefing."
Despite this claim, the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) released studies that revealed Obama has missed more than half of his daily intelligence briefings, according to Breitbart. Furthermore, the White House admitted to these absences, but claimed Obama reads the intelligence material on his iPad.
Back in 2012, National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor claimed Obama missed meetings that are "not particularly interesting or useful," according to the Washington Post.
Vietor claimed there is no difference between reading and attending the meetings and disagrees with those who think contrary.
"I actually don't agree at all," said Vietor. "The president gets the information he needs from the intelligence community each day."
