After showcasing it at both its World Wide Developers Conference in June and its iPad Air keynote press event earlier this week Apple has finally revealed the release date and price tag of the new Mac Pro.
According to ExtremeTech, the new system will ship starting at $3,000 with an Intel E5 Xeon, dual AMD FirePro D300 graphics cards, 12GB of DRAM and a 256GB SSD sometime in December.
According to the company, if customers opt to chose the solid-state hard drive option, the new Mac Pro will run roughly ten times faster than the other hard drive option.
During the presentation, the company revealed that it has put the device through its paces with professionals such as filmmaker Dean Devlin (Independence Day), photographer Lucas Gilman (National Geographic) and music producer Stuart Price, who works with artists like Lady Gaga, according to Mashable . At its keynote address, the company referred to the new Mac Pro as the new best device for music recording, remixing and remastering.
The device offers a unified thermal core and anodized aluminum enclosure as well as more fans to keep the hard drive cool and running smoothly. The device will please fans of Apple's traditional design aesthetics and will be interested t know that the new device takes up just one eighth of the volume of the previous generation of the new Mac Pro.
Alongside the new desktop device from Apple came the release of the new Mac operating system OS X Mavericks, which released for free on the app store. Not to mention the release of the new iPad Air and the smaller Retina display iPad mini. Each of these new tablets comes with the advanced 64-bit A7 processing chip.
