Dakota Johnson is already getting into character. The 24-year-old actress was spotted at the 2013 CFDA & Vogue Fashion Fund event at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles with darker hair, Hollywood Life reports.
Usually Johnson sports a light-golden blonde hue but switched it up for a darker, brownish color. Perhaps she is already channeling Anastasia Steele? Filming for the movie isn't expected to start until November but Johnson might have wanted to try out the brunette color.
There were rumors that the actress was going to quit "Fifty Shades of Grey' following Charlie Hunnam's exit but sources connected to the project ensured fans that she still had every intention of playing the shy, college student.
A source even told Hollywood Life that Johnson was helping producers search for the new billionaire.
"For Dakota, she was sad that Charlie had to back out but she is very excited to see who will take the role," a source said. "She is in constant contact with producers and the studio and she is very willing to help out in any way and is looking forward to do readings with everyone who is available for the role. She is taking things well since she is still a part of the film."
Johnson was upset Hunnam quit but she was excited to meet the actor who would take his place. According to reports she did screen tests with actors Jamie Dornan amd Billy Magnussen but it was ultimately Dornan who was awarded the role.
E.L. James announced via Twitter that the "Once Upon a Time" hottie would be joining "Team 50" as the new male lead.
"Stow your twitchy palms ladies... our man is here. Welcome to #TeamFifty @JamieDornan1 x."
The reaction from fans seems to have been a lot more pleasant than the first Christian Grey announcement. The majority of people who commented on the tweet were in favor of Dornan.
"Squeeee!! Good choice my lady!! You did good!!," one user posted.
"I just got the shivers!! I need a safe word to deal with this!! Yay!" another user commented.
