Hey Omarion, having a platinum single doesn't guarantee you a Grammy nomination. The former B2K frontman launched into a heated Twitter rant after his R&B single "Post to Be," featuring Chris Brown and Jhene Aiko failed to receive a nomination for the 2016 Grammys, which were announced on Monday. Omarion called out the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for not recognizing his single, which he called "one of the greatest R&B collaborations ever." The 31-year-old singer believed he deserved to be nominated in the category of Best R&B Performance.
"Even though people act like its easy to make a hit (& it's not). As an artist you look forward to being acknowledged by the game," Omarion first tweeted. Adding, "The odds have always been against me. I constantly prove you wrong. I'll consistently do great things & you will have to celebrate me."
"This isn't a(n) I'm upset' (post to be) rant," he explained. "This is a(n) - ok so that wasn't good enough. I'll be back. Have my Grammy's ready...The game has long changed since I was introduced to it. They want to still treat me like I'm a new to this. My moment is coming trust."
"So when it's all said & done. Remember. I prophesied it. It's my destiny. I was destined," Omarion tweeted." The singer's last comment drew major criticism, forcing him to respond with a laughter and write, "Lmaooooo, they laughed at Jesus."
Omarion released "Post to Be" in November 2014 and was a part of his fourth studio album, "Sex Playlist." Despite his personal feelings and questioning the Academy's choices, Omarion took time to congratulate all the nominees, writing, "Congratulations to all the nominees! Enjoy this milestone." Several mainstream musicians, including Demi Lovato, Jason Derulo, and Madonna did not receive a Grammy nomination this year.
So, does Omarion deserve a Grammy nomination?
