An Air France flight from San Francisco to Paris was diverted to Montreal today due to anonymous threats, according to CNN.
After security teams did a full sweep of the plane, luggage and passengers, the threat was deemed bogus, according to USA Today. The plane was cleared for take off and left Montreal around 7 a.m.
The airline later sent out a tweet confirming that the threats made were "false threats."
The Boeing 777 plane was carrying approximately 200 passengers at the time of the diversion, according to CNBC.
The threats caused a 7-hour delay and the plane was scheduled to land in Paris at 6 p.m. local time, according to USA Today.
Officials have not yet said how the threat was received, according to CNN, but this is not the first Air France flight to be diverted in recent months. In November, two Air France flights from the U.S. to Paris were diverted due to bomb threats. In neither case were any explosive devices found.
