Katharine McPhee , 29, was caught kissing her former "Smash" director Michael Morris, 45, in public. When Morris' wife found out about the public display of affection, she reportedly kicked him out of their home.
Mary McCormack was extremely embarrassed by her husband's act, according to PerezHilton.com. The couple has been together for more than 10 years, a source told the gossip site:
"They've been together for more than 10 years and always had such a solid marriage. They have three daughters, so it's incredibly sad. He wants to keep the family together, but as far as Mary is concerned, it's over. There's no going back...Mary only found out this week about the affair after he confessed everything to her.
"She had no idea anything had been going on. The last thing she ever thought was that he was seeing another woman...She is beyond furious and is absolutely devastated. So is Michael. He really wants to make it work between them and try and save the marriage. But at the moment, Mary wants to split up with him...Only time will tell if Michael and Mary can make things work and get over this." (See photos here)
McPhee is also legally married, but her situation differs from Morris' relationship. TMZ reports the singer separated from husband Nick Cokas six months ago and having been living apart ever since. McPhee married Cokas in 2008.
"She is SO embarrassed she was caught," a source told US Magazine, referring to McPhee. "She should have known better!"
A source told PEOPLE they did not believe McPhee and Morris were having a relationship while filming "Smash."
"I never noticed anything with Kat and the director on set at the time ... I do remember Kat's husband was always around and was very controlling," the source said.
