Rani Mukerji and hubby Aditya Chopra have been blessed with a baby girl! The couple, who welcomed the newborn Wednesday morning, have named the child Adira, which originates from the names of the parents - Adi from Aditya Chopra and Ra from Rani Mukerji, according to The Indian Express.
"I would like to thank all my well wishers and fans," the delighted mother said, according to The Statesman. "Today, life has given us God's greatest gift with Adira. We thank fans, our friends and well wishers for their unconditional support and blessings. With joy we begin this new chapter in our lives."
The "Mardaani" actress and the filmmaker, who were in a long-term relationship, tied the knot in April of last year.
Proud uncle Uday Chopra announced the birth of his newborn niece on Twitter. "IT'S A GIRL!!!!!" he wrote.
The couple's close friend, filmmaker Karan Johar, also tweeted, "Am an uncle to a beautiful baby girl today!!!!! @udaychopra !!! Rani and Adi had a baby girl!!"
Many Bollywood celebrities, including Parineeti Chopra and Rishi Kapoor, followed suit and congratulated the couple on the happy news.
