SAG Award Nominations 2016: 'Trumbo' And 'House Of Cards' Lead Nominees

In the race to the Oscars, the field remains wide open in most categories and it shows in the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.

The cast of "Straight Outta Compton" is recognized among "The Big Short" and "Beasts of No Nation," the first nomination for Netflix in the film category. Leonardo DiCaprio, who is still in search of his first Academy Award, will also vie for his first SAG Award for his role in "The Revenant" against last year's winner, Eddie Redmayne in "The Danish Girl."

Dame Helen Mirren grabs two nominations for her leading role in "Woman in Gold" and supporting role in "Trumbo," which led the film pack with three nominations. Idris Elba also double dips, receiving a nomination for his lead role in "Beasts of No Nation" and for the TV movie, "Luther."

Speaking of television, the nominations are less than surprising for most of the categories. SAG recognizes Rami Malek's superb work in USA Network's "Mr. Robot" and the last season of "Key & Peele" cracks the Outstanding Comedy Ensemble. "House of Cards" collected the most noms with three.

Carol Burnett will also receive the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award when the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards air on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. on TBS and TNT.
