Fantasy Football: Lamar Miller Workload Increasing?

The Miami Dolphins have been all over the map when it comes to their usage of tailback Lamar Miller this season. Now Miller is a talented running back, which is why it was so strange to see Joe Philbin leave him on the sidelines for the majority of the team's first four games. After he got canned and interim coach Dan Campbell took over, fantasy football owners thought their investment had finally turned a corner. But following two promising games, Miller's touches started to decrease yet again and everyone was back at square one.

Now with the fantasy playoffs starting in most leagues, owners need to know if they can trust Miller going forward. Every roster move counts and you don't want a dud in your starting lineup. Fortunately, ESPN Dolphins reporter James Walker believes Miller is in line for more touches down the stretch.

"Dolphins tailback Lamar Miller will surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the second straight year," Walker wrote in ESPN's Late Season Predictions list. "It has been an up-and-down season for Miller, who has 680 rushing yards after 12 games, which puts him on pace for a total of 907. But Miller will be the biggest beneficiary of the Dolphins' firing of former offensive coordinator Bill Lazor and promoting Zac Taylor. He got a season-high 20 carries and gained 113 rushing yards in Taylor's first game calling plays this past Sunday. Miller, who averages 4.9 yards per carry this season, will finally get the opportunities needed to surpass 1,000 yards."

In addition to his 680 rushing yards, Miller has scored eight touchdowns on the ground while catching 39 passes for 346 yards and two additional scores. When given the opportunity, he has produced. The problem is that he's only received double digit carries once in the past three games. Hopefully, Miami's new offensive coordinator will feature him more.
