Texas Tech (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) looks for its eighth straight win and third behind quarterback Davis Webb. The freshman took over after Baker Mayfield suffered a knee injury on Oct. 5 against Kansas, ESPN reports.

Webb has completed 61.5 percent of his passes for 913 yards, 7 touchdowns and one interception since taking over in the Kansas game and starting in the two games that followed - including throwing for 462 yards last week against West Virginia.

"The more reps he gets, the better he gets and the more confidence he gets," said Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury, via ESPN. "It's encouraging to have a young QB like that and have guys step up around him and make those plays."

The offense seamlessly transitioned from Mayfield to Webb. Texas Tech ranks second in the nation with 416.4 passing yards per game, sixth in the nation with 548.1 total yards per game and second in the Big 12 with 41.1 points scored per game.

Webb and the Red Raiders face their biggest challenge yet on Saturday when they meet the Sooners' top-ranked pass defense. Oklahoma (6-1, 3-1) gives up a nation-best 149.7 passing yards per game. The stingy secondary is coming off a 34-19 win over Kansas, which was kept to just 16 passing yards.

"Their defense schematically has changed a bunch from last year," Kingsbury conceded. "They're very athletic, fundamentally sound and will be a big challenge for a young quarterback."

Although the Sooners' defense has been on point, the offense has been inconsistent. Quarterback Blake Bell will be tasked with keeping the ball out of the hands of Techs' high-powered offense.
