It's official, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Harry Styles of One Direction are now Britain's wealthiest young stars, topping Daniel Radcliffe from his former #1 spot on Heat magazine's Rich List for under-30s.
Soon to release their third studio album, just how much are these former "X-Factor" contestants worth now?
Heat magazine reports that their earnings are estimated at a whopping £59.33 million, according to the Daily Mail, with Radcliffe coming in close at second place with earnings of £56.19 million.
Some fans have pointed out that the representation may not be entirely fair, however, as One Direction accounts for five people, while Radcliffe's earnings are a solo effort.
The highly successful boy band is soon to release their third studio album, "Midnight Memories," having just finished their high-grossing world tour, the "Take Me Home Tour," which raked in $34,054,271, and released their new single, "Story Of My Life," which has instantly become a big hit with fans.
“One Direction are young, talented, staggeringly good looking and adored by millions. To that we can now add ‘rolling in cash,'" said Lucie Cave, editor-in-chief of Heat, adding, "No one said life was fair."
Television shows, movies, record sales, product endorsements and tour revenues were all taken into account by a panel of industry experts when determining just who was making the most money in Britain in 2013. Other high-earning Brits include Robert Pattinson, Keira Knightly, Emma Watson, Adele, Rupert Grint and Cheryl Cole, along with a new entry this year, DJ Calvin Harris, who came in at eighth place with earnings of £22.2 million.
