Carly Fiorina shot back at CNN's Chris Cuomo Friday after the host suggested that the Republican presidential candidate's rhetoric could in some way be responsible for the Colorado Planned Parenthood shooting last month by Robert Lewis Dear, in which three people were killed.
"Do you feel any sense of regret about how you characterized what was going on at Planned Parenthood after the attack in Colorado?," asked Cuomo, reported RealClear Politics. "Because of what the man said which seems as though he was influenced by some of the rhetoric that was coming out of you and others that painted a very ugly picture and an unfair one, about Planned Parenthood."
"Oh, please, really, Chris?" Fiorina replied. “What happened in Colorado is a terrible thing, this guy is a deranged murderer, and I hope he is put away for life. It may be that we should be classifying that as domestic terrorism as well. But that has nothing to do with the truth of what is going on in Planned Parenthood, and this is a typical left-wing tactic, to try and shut down the truth by silencing people."
“The videos were edited, you know that,” Cuomo responded.
“Actually, I don’t know that,” she insisted. “There’s been forensic evidence of those nine videotapes over and over again, there have been reports that say they are not edited.”
“Of course they were edited! Of course they were edited!” Cuomo said.
“Oh let’s be careful about what we’re saying,” Fiorina snapped. “Let’s be very careful about what we’re saying.”
In September, Fiorina told Fox News that the current debate over Planned Parenthood was about "butchering babies for body parts" and said, "Planned Parenthood has not, will not, cannot deny that this is happening because it is," according to The New York Times.
In recent polling, Fiorina hasn't been able to break the 1 percent mark.
