When we head back to Starling City this Wednesday, many fans are going to get what they’ve been waiting on since the beginning of the season.
In the preview for the next episode entitled “Crucible”, Oliver as the Arrow is chasing the Black Canary. The chase stops on the top of a roof and he asks a pretty logical question—“Who are you?” Her response:
“Once you know your life will never be the same.”
Oliver is about to find out what many viewers have known for a while—Laurel’s sister Sara didn’t really die on the Queen’s Gambit.
Oh yea—and she’s a super hero.
In the comic books, theBlack Canary’s true identity is Laurel. So when reports came this summer that Laurel’s sister Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) would be the Canary, there were some fans that were a little taken aback.
According to EOnline executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said Laurel could take her right place behind the black mask sooner than fans think. However, he explains that they must wait.
"Everyone knows that Laurel Lance is the Black Canary. That's the way it is in the comic books, but how we get from A to B is the story of our show," he said according to TVGuide.com. "In the same way that Oliver, when we meet him, is the vigilante, but this season he's going to becoming the Arrow, that's the step of his journey to eventually becoming the Green Arrow.
"Laurel Lance right now is a lawyer with a lot of heart and a lot of humanity and courage. But it takes more than that to put on the mask and go out and fight crime."
