We're not in the year 2000 anymore. Kitson, a California boutique made famous by its celebrity customers, is closing its doors for good, according to US Magazine. At its height, the store saw the likes of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan and was an epicenter of young female fashion.
The store has 17 locations spread out across California, Oregon and Nevada, New York Magazine reported. All 17 stores will be closing up shop in the coming months.
Kitson's online shop will also be shutting down shortly, according to The Los Angeles Times.
Before the doors shut completely, the store will be having a major going-out-of-business sale. Items will be discounted anywhere from 30 to 50 percent off, which is good news for any West Coast shoppers looking to get one last taste of early 2000s fashion.
While the official date of the stores' closure has not been revealed, one Kitson employee said that he was told that they will close for good by Jan. 31, according to the LA Times.
The company has been experiencing falling sales in the last few months, with the opening of stores across the area aiding in its decline. Many consumers also complain about over-priced merchandise, especially compared to competitors in the area.
