Tennessee Titans general manger Ruston Webster is reportedly far from safe and could be fired following the 2015 season, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport. Reports have surfaced that no one is safe in Tennessee, as they have won just five games in the past two years, according to Rapoport.
The Titans fired head coach Ken Whisenhunt after a 1-6 start, and interim head coach Mike Mularkey has led Tennessee to a 2-3 record since taking over. Tennessee currently sits in last place in the AFC South but is coming off a big win over their rival the Jacksonville Jaguars last week.
Webster became the Titans GM in 2012 after serving as the team's vice president of player personnel. Tennessee has a combined 18 wins during Webster's time as GM, and the Titans have not made the playoffs since 2008. Tennessee may look to clean house after this season and look for a fresh start with a new head coach and GM in 2016.
The Titans selected Marcus Mariota with the second pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, and he is having a tremendous first season in Tennessee. Mariota has thrown for 2,512 yards with 19 touchdowns to nine interceptions. While Mariota is a game-changer for the Titans future, he doesn't truly have enough talent around him to turn this team into a playoff contender.
There have been rumors of reconnecting Eagles head coach Chip Kelly with Mariota in Tennessee, and the Titans are likely to try and acquire a big name coach this offseason. The Titans organization is expected to make some big moves this offseason, and head coach and GM are priority issues that Tennessee will need to fix.
