A school teacher was attacked by a man early Monday morning in the northern suburbs of Paris and stabbed with a box cutter in what appears to be an ISIS-linked attack, according to local newspaper Le Parisien.
The incident took place in Aubervilliers, located north of Paris. Police said the hooded attacker, who was wearing a balaclava and gloves, made a reference to Daesh, also known as ISIS, during the attack. "That's for Daesh, this is a warning," the man said, according to a local prosecutor.
The teacher, who was getting ready for class in the morning, was admitted to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim's identity has not yet been revealed.
Authorities are treating the incident as a terrorist attack and the investigation has been handed over to the counter-terrorism department, according to The Local.
The attack takes place a month after a Jewish teacher was injured after being stabbed by three people in another ISIS-inspired attack in Marseilles, France, according to BBC News.
