NJ State Police Trooper Delivers Baby On Parkway

As if it were a scene from a movie, a man pulled his car to the side of the New Jersey Garden State Parkway on the afternoon of Dec. 11 as his wife started delivering their baby. They called 911, and minutes later, an off-duty state trooper arrived and delivered the baby right in the car, reported the Associated Press.

Sgt. Sean Boag was on his way home from work, but heard the call on the police dispatch radio and drove to the scene. The Lakewood, N.J., couple were on their way to hospital but the woman's labour was too advanced for them to make it in time. Boag arrived to the car at 3:58 p.m., when the baby was already crowning, and by 4:02, the baby was resting on her mother's chest, reported The Asbury Park Press.
