French authorities have apprehended three suspects in connection to terrorist attacks that occurred in January and November as the investigation into the Nov. 13 terror attacks continues, sources revealed.
Two suspects are being questioned as part of the investigation into January's Hyper Cacher kosher grocery store incident, reported the New York Daily News. The attack occurred on Jan. 9 - days after the Charlie Hebdo attacks - when Amedy Coulibaly stormed the market, killing four people and taking others hostage before he died in a shootout with police.
The two suspects were identified by the prosecutor's office as Claude Hermant, an acknowledged mercenary, and his partner, who were arrested on suspicion of helping to provide guns to Coulibaly. In fact, Hermant had already been in jail for arms trafficking since January and was only determined to be connected to the attacks on Tuesday.
Separately, authorities arrested a 29-year-old man Tuesday for his currently undefined role in the Nov. 13 terror attacks. Local media suggests he was planning to travel to Syria when he was apprehended, according to CNN.
It's unclear whether the attacks or subsequent arrests are related.
These arrests mark the latest developments in Paris' attempts to combat terrorists since the November attacks, reported the BBC. SInce then, about 2,700 raids have been conducted, and 360 people placed under house arrest across France.
