Kim Kardashian confirmed that she will be taking Kanye West's last name after marriage, which according to the rapper may be next summer.
Kanye West's wedding proposal to Kim Kardashian was nothing short of a fairy tale. So the least Kardashian can do is take the rapper's last name after marriage and that's exactly what she plans to do, revealed E! Online in a news report.
Kardashian reportedly confirmed to the tabloid that she will be adopting the "West" surname after marriage. Her current surname will then become her middle name. So, post marriage Kardashian will be known as Kim Kardashian West. The reality star then went on to tell the tabloid about the very special gift West gave her on her 33rd birthday - a wedding proposal in the most romantic fashion, a 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring and a very special dinner date.
"I cried afterwards. I was shaking. And when you're like, Is this really happening? But you're just shaking...I honestly had no idea, none whatsoever," the 33-year-old told the website. "I knew we were going to San Francisco for my birthday, because he had a show there the next night. So I thought it was just a birthday dinner."
"My eyes were closed and then I got up and I still the whole time I didn't think it was a proposal. I thought it was dinner on the baseball field and we had a nice orchestra. I still didn't get it...when he got on his knee, I kind of figured out what was going on," she continued.
Post their engagement, Kardashian and her new fiancé have been very busy and according to her, haven't had time to make their wedding plans yet. However, a Hollywood Life report revealed that the rapper hinted at a summer wedding next year. Reportedly, he also said he was willing to televise their wedding provided he gets a whole lot of money.
"I would take as much as possible, if someone's gonna pay me to broadcast that," he said. "I was thinking about that the other day. People got all these perceptions of what they think makes something official and not official - what's official for everybody in this room and everybody on this glove right now is some bills. We can help those bills."
