The Oct. 22 media event held by Apple to announce new launches turned into a bit of a damp squib as the Cupertino-based tech giant only unveiled a few upgrades to its existing products. However, Apple is reportedly ready with a new lineup of products to be released in 2014.
Earlier this year, Tim cook told Apple users that the company would reveal new products in the coming holidays and across 2014. Recently, Cook assured that the company will stay committed to its former promise in a recent interview to a daily.
"I've said that you'd see some exciting new products from us in the fall of this year and across 2014," said Cook while answering to an industry analyst, reports The Register. "And I obviously stand by that, and you've seen a lot of things over the last couple of months."
The list of upcoming Apple products seems pretty interesting with hot picks like finger print recognition on its future iPad models and bigger screens for the next-gen iPhones that are likely to be unveiled around this time next year.
Among the list of products the one that tops the chart is the upcoming wearable tech from Apple. With Sony and Samsung releasing their wearable tech this year and Google reportedly on its way, Apple may buckle up to deliver its smartwatch by early next year. Apple was reportedly hiring employees back in July for its engineering team, suggesting the tech giant is working on its much-speculated iWtach.
Apple is also rumored to be working on an HDTV, according to CNET. Additionally, Apple may also come up with add-ons for its HDTV like a gaming console for the Apple TV and a Bluetooth controller to complement the former.
Apple unveiled the latest iPhone 5S and 5C models in September and the recent entries too retained the earlier screen size of 4 inches as its younger siblings. The global smartphone leaders like Samsung, Nokia, Sony, are coming up with big screen phones these days, which may provoke the iPhone developer to build the next generation iPhones with larger screen sizes around 4.7 - 5-inches. An iPad Maxi too is reportedly in the works to be accompanied by a keyboard cover.
Apple introduced a new color variant for the iPod Touch, Nano and Shuffle last month while unveiling iPhone 5S. The company may add features to the existing music devices like better camera and faster processor in the coming holiday season. However, the company has yet to confirm the new devices.
