The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly not surprised that Eagles running back DeMarco Murray has been at the center of a ton of drama in Philadelphia, according to NFL reporter Albert Breer.
"The guy is a pro in his preparation and toughness and competitiveness," said one club source, via the NFL. "But he's also entitled, selfish and condescending. He's a great 'team' guy when he's the guy." The Cowboys are in last place in the NFC East at 4-9, but they sit only two games behind the Eagles and have lost their franchise quarterback Tony Romo for the season.
Despite losing the NFL's top rusher in 2014, Dallas currently sits at 11th in the league in terms of rushing yards per game and sits two spots ahead of Philadelphia. The numbers are a testament to the Cowboys' offensive line that has dealt with a makeshift backfield and changes at quarterback all season.
Cowboys running back Darren McFadden signed a two-year contract worth up to $5.85 million this offseason after watching Murray sign with the Eagles for more than $40 million for five years. Murray currently leads the Eagles with 603 rushing yards this season, but he sits behind both Darren Sproles and Ryan Mathews in terms of yards per carry. McFadden has rushed for 798 yards for the Cowboys this season and is proving that the dominating offensive line in Dallas was a major factor in Murray's incredible 2014 season.
Murray's carries have dropped in Philadelphia recently, and he has not seen more than 15 carries since mid-November. The Eagles running back has continued to say the right things to the public and has just recently stated that he is fine with a limited role, as the only important thing is winning, according to NFL reporter Kevin Patra. While reports surface about Murray being "entitled," he has continued to step away from the drama and made clear his major focus is on the Eagles winning.
