California Rapist Continually Harrassing Victim's Family After Escaping GPS Device

A paroled California rapist began harassing the family of his elderly victim after he cut off his GPS tracking device, the Contra Costa Times reported.

Dennis Michael McKenzie was reported missing immediately after he cut off his locator beacon. Since his disappearance, he has made over 50 "threatening and obscene" calls to the family of his 80-year-old rape victim.

In 2004, he was sentenced to seven years in prison for raping the elderly woman. McKenzie was then paroled to a Long Beach halfway house and registered as a sex offender.

He reportedly likes to spend time in Lake Arrowhead, Long Beach, Palm Springs, and Los Angeles County. Sheriff's officials described him as 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

"He's on the street and he needs help," sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said.

The Meghan's Law website lists McKenzie's last known address on the 2200 block of West Wardlow Road in Long Beach. It also states he was convicted of sexual penetration with a foreign object by force or fear.

Additionally, police reports state McKenzie is 55-years-old though the Meghan's Law website says he is 58.

A felony warrant has been issued for his arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call (909) 336 - 0600 or (909) 387 - 8313.
