Before you start preparing those milk and cookies for the jolly old man, consider this: Santa might have had visited a lot of other houses who have prepared the same cookie treats. Why not serve something different this year? Below are some delicious, easy recipes to serve Santa Claus. You can even make them with your kids!
Chocolate Fudge Brownies from Spoon University
Ingredients:
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
Mix-ins like nuts or fruit, per preference
Procedure:
1) Line your container with aluminum foil and set aside.
2) In the microwave, melt chocolate chips with condensed milk on high for three minutes.
3) Take out of the microwave, add the mix-ins and stir. Pour in the lined container and let sit in the freezer for three hours.
4) Take container out and cut into cubes. Keep cold until ready to serve for Santa.
Cheese-Stuffed Bread Sticks from The Kitchn
Ingredients:
16 ounces part-skim mozzarella
2 pounds pizza dough
Extra-virgin olive oil
Garlic powder
Oregano
Kosher salt
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Tomato sauce for dipping
Procedure:
1) Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F. (You will turn it down later.) Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
2) Slice mozzarella cheese into 1/4 inch thick logs.
3) Dust your work surface with flour and then knead the dough into a ball. Slice into half, set one aside.
4) Roll the dough into a rectangle about 8 inches long by 16 inches wide and 1/4 inch thick. Slice into 2 inch by 8 inch strips and put mozzarella in the strips. Fold, roll and seal. Do the same with the rest of the strips.
5) Line the strips on the baking sheet, then sprinkle olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, salt and Parmesan cheese. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Do the same process for the other half of the kneaded dough.
No Bake Peanut Butter Cheesecake Pie from Mom On Timeout
Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 1/4 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 1/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 ounces Cool Whip
3/4 cup hot fudge topping
Oreo Pie Crust
26 Oreo cookies, with filling included
6 tablespoon butter, melted
Procedure:
1) Work the Oreos in the food processor until fine crumbs. Add in the melted butter until it's properly incorporated. Press this mixture into a pie pan or plate, making sure that all sides are even. Let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour.
2) Begin making the pie filling by beating the cream cheese and peanut butter until fluffy.
3) Add in the vanilla and powdered sugar. When well-combined, fold in the Cool Whip.
4) Pour this into the pie crust evenly.
5) Top with hot fudge and refrigerate for two hours or more before serving Santa a slice.
And don't forget the reindeer! They might want a few carrot and celery sticks to much on before the next house.
