Radiohead: 'Spectre' Song Originally Intended For James Bond Film Released (AUDIO, TWEETS)

Radiohead has released the unused song that the band recorded as a theme the James Bong film, "Spectre," according to Rolling Stone.

The band's singer Thom Yorke revealed on Twitter that they were asked to record a theme song for the 007 film, but it "didn't work out."

"Last year we were asked to write a tune for Bond movie Spectre. Yes we were," Yorke wrote. "It didn't work out ... but became something of our own which we love very much. As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it. Merry Christmas. May the force be with you."

Radiohead was tipped as one of the favorites to compose the "Spectre" theme song in the months leading up to film's release.

However, Sam Smith's "Writing's On The Wall" was chosen as the signature tune, which went on to create history by becoming the first-ever Bond theme to take the number one spot in the U.K., with total chart sales and streams of 70,000 copies, according to BBC News.
