In last week’s episode of “The Good Wife”, Peter made a pretty risky decision by using his office to get Chum Hum into Alicia’s and Cary’s new firm.
Peter’s move could negatively affect him as the Governor-elect of Illinois and Alicia as one of the managing partners at a new firm.
According to EOnline, Peter’s decision and the possibility he could do it again, could affect more than just him and his wife.
"That storyline kind of figures in a couple different ways…a couple different factors involved with how the governorship aspect plays into the beginning of the firm," Matt Czuchry, who plays Cary Agos (the Agos in Florrick and Agos), recently said according to the website. "So that is one of the themes that will come in and out from a couple different angles, actually, at the beginning of the season."
Since coming into office Peter has made a few decisions that could backfire on him. One was his handling of Marylin. He “promoted” her because she was too pretty. Then he had to re-hire her because it looked as if he “promoted” her because she was too ethical. The second decision was his reversal of Diane’s nomination because of she helped oust Alicia.
According to a preview for the upcoming episode, Marylin may become a problem for Alicia—and she even admits it.
“You’re right not to trust me,” she tells Alicia.
“Who are you really working for,” Peter’s wife responds.
Is Marylin a traitor? You can watch the preview here.
“The Good Wife” airs on Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.
