New York City Marathon Route 2013: Map, Start Times, Security & Prohibited Items, Live Stream Info

The 2013 New York City Marathon takes place on Sunday, Nov. 3. Below is all the information pertinent to spectators, including: start times, a map of the route, security precautions/prohibited items and how to watch the live stream online.

Start Times:
8:30 a.m. Wheelchair Division

8:55 a.m. Handcycle Category and Select Ambulatory Athletes With Disabilities

9:10 a.m. Professional Women

9:40 a.m. WAVE START 1

The staging/start area is at Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island. Only registered entrants and guides are allowed in the start area. Entrants seeking more information about the start should visit HERE.

Security/Prohibited Items:
Expect tight security at the marathon, including baggage checks and restrictions at certain venues (Marathon Opening Ceremony, Grandstand Seating in Central Park and several other locations).

TV and Live Stream Info:
NYC residents can tune to ABC 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; ESPN2 will nationally broadcast the race from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., then the coverage will switch to ESPN3.
