Ferrari Recalling 2016 California T Models Due To Fuel Leaks

There's another recall in the automotive industry, so if you got a new car for Christmas, beware.

Ferrari is recalling a number of its 2016 California T convertibles due to the potential for fuel leaks that could lead to fires, according to CBS.

The cars being recalled were made between Sept. 8 and Nov. 11, according to Bloomberg. The U.S. National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration said on their website that these convertibles could have a low pressure fuel lines that weren't connected properly, which raises the risk for fires. The post put partial blame for this defect on the supplier.

Dealerships were made aware of the defect in November, and subsequently, sales of the model stopped on Nov. 23, according to Newsweek. More than 50 dealerships across the country sold this particular model. As of Dec. 26, 185 customers were notified.

The recall for the $231,606 car began on Dec. 14.

This is not the only automotive recall of the year, with Ford recalling its 2013 models due to potential fuel leaks, according to CBS. That defect affected around 868 cars, with the models including the Ford Explorer, Taurus Police Interceptor, Flex, Taurus, Lincoln MKS and Lincoln MKT.
