Bill Clinton called President Obama "luckier than a dog with two d---s" for his stroke of good luck of having Republican Mitt Romney as his opponent in the 2012 presidential elections.
According to Clinton, who was quoted in a new book by journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, President Obama was fortunate to run against someone who shot himself in the foot on the campaign trail, the New York Daily News reported.
"Romney's ineptness staggered Clinton," Halperin and Heilemann wrote in "Double Down."
Clinton also revealed that he thought Romney's lack of ability to speak in front of large crowds, along with that fateful 47 percent comment that some have said threw his bid to the wolves, contributed to his loss.
"He really shouldn't be speaking to people in public," the former president was quoted as saying in the book.
Still, it appears Clinton personally admired Mitt Romney as a family-oriented guy.
The book reveals many secrets on Capitol Hill, including the fact that Obama's aides mulled over switching Hillary Rodham Clinton in for Biden, and that Romney's hunt for a VP was dubbed "Project Goldfish."
The book also revealed that President Obama was often irked by Clinton's sociable and sometimes too-friendly demeanor.
"I like him...in doses," President Obama is quoted as saying in the book, adding that he wastes time "cracking jokes and yakking, taking mulligan after mulligan."
