Republican front-runner Donald Trump accused Hillary Clinton on Sunday of unfairly using her gender to attack him and gain support by "playing the woman's card," while also saying husband Bill Clinton is "fair game," as the former president prepares to campaign for his wife.
“She’s playing that woman’s card left and right, and women are more upset about it than anybody else, including most men,” Trump said on Fox News Sunday morning, according to CNN. "She's mentioning sexism," Trump added, referencing a recent interview in which Clinton told the Des Moines Register the billionaire had "demonstrated a penchant for sexism."
Trump also declared Bill Clinton "fair game because his presidency was really considered to be very troubled because of all the things that she's talking to me about," The Fiscal Times reported.
Trump has set his sights on Clinton and moved beyond the GOP primary, in some respects, because he believes she will be the Democratic nominee. “I don’t think it’s going to be Bernie Sanders,” he said, according to RealClear Politics. “I’m more prepared to run against Hillary because I’ve been thinking about that.”
Trump also defended comments he made on Twitter in which he took a new shot against Hillary Clinton Saturday night, citing Bill Clinton's history of unfaithfulness and sexual misconduct while in office and saying the former president has a "penchant for sexism," NBC News reported.
"The 'penchant for sexism' was exactly her words, and I just turned them," he said. "I thought it was fine."
