Featured on the soundtrack of the latest movie in the popular "The Hunger Games" franchise, "Catching Fire," Ellie Goulding recently released a 90-second preview of her new song, "Mirror," the Huffington Post reports.
Featuring the lyrics "I was the girl who was on fire," the mid-tempo track is laced with Goulding's signature electronic sparkle mixed with plenty of moodiness, and has so far excited fans on Soundcloud and Facebook.
"I need the full version," wrote one user, while another praised Goulding's vocals on the track as "fantastic."
In "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," heroine Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) returns home to District 12 and soon begins the traditional winner's Victory Tour, only to find herself and Games partner Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) in trouble for angering President Snow after breaking the rules of the Games.
The themes in the second installment focus on survival and a conflict between independence and interdependence, as Margo Dill wrote in the novel's study guide for Bright Hub Education, as Katniss is forced to enter a new version of the Games and can no longer continue living her life as she did before and must depend on Peeta and others for support.
Other artists on the star-studded "Catching Fire" soundtrack include Lorde, Sia, The Lumineers, Christina Aguilera and The Weeknd. The film hits theaters Nov. 22 in the U.S. and Nov. 21 in the U.K.
