Counterpoint Technology Market Monitor is a company that delivers an in-detail intelligence of the technology markets. The research company tallied up U.S. smartphone shipments in the third quarter of 2013 in able to come up with the report.
During the third quarter of 2013, the total market share of Nokia in the USA Smartphone OEM Shipments Market closed at 4.1 percent. While Apple and Samsung had a tight fight having 33.7 percent and 33.6 percent respectively. LG is in the third spot garnering 8.6 percent and Motorola comes behind Nokia with 3.7 percent.
Nokia’s share of percentage though figuratively not as big as the two leading smartphone brands, is quite astounding considering that it just had less than one percent share in the third quarter of last year.
The success of the Finnish company may have been due to the triumph of its Nokia Lumia and continuous enhancement of its operating system, the Microsoft’s Windows 8.
However, it may Nokia some time before it can go at par with the features and quality of Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy.
