A new BlackBerry 10 app called "BlackGram" brings the feel of the original Instagram experience for BB 10 users who missed out on the popular photo sharing social networking site.
BlackBerry users have long craved for the popular photo-sharing app, Instagram, especially after the launch of its upgraded BlackBerry 10 platform. The app hasn't made it to the platform yet. But something may just fill the void quite well. The latest photo sharing app for BlackBerry 10 platform, BlackGram will have your joyous fingers snap selfies away to glory!
Besides Blackberry, other platforms including Android, iOS and Windows Phone have enjoyed Instagram on mobile. The Facebook-owned company has grown massively since the $1 billion takeover in April last year. The company announced surpassing a 150 million user milestone in September. More recently, Instagram began rolling out its first online advertisement, suggesting a move in monetizing business. But the company has not revealed any plans on rolling out the app for BlackBerry.
The new BlackGram is here to fulfill the needs until the San Francisco, Calif.-based company feels the need to expand further. For an Instagram spin-off, the app is doing pretty great. It includes account creation, browsing through photos and short videos, search users, hashtags, like/comment/unlike photos, follow users, edit images with filters found in Instagram and much more. But like the famous saying goes, everything has its price; the smartphone app for BB10 users comes with a price tag of $2.99.
The app is worth its price, suggests an unofficial BlackBerry tech blog site, CrackBerry. The site explains the cost of the app is to cover the cost for processing images on the server. BlackGram is currently hidden in the BlackBerry App World as the developers scale-up their servers and fine-tune login requests, the report says.
