The Black Caps, who are leading the series by 2-1, now aim to take an unassailable lead by winning the fourth ODI. The resurgent Sri Lankan squad, on the other hand, is looking to level the series.
The visitors, who lost the first two matches of the series, bounced back with an eight-wicket victory over the hosts on Thursday. The Sri Lankan victory kept the five-match series alive. The Kiwis are leading the series 2-1. Tillakaratne Dilshan (91), Lahiru Thirimanne (87) and Danushka Gunathilaka (65) helped their side chase a 277-run target with 22 deliveries remaining, according to NZ Herald.
"We talked about how we have to be positive and we can t have negative thoughts because certainly this New Zealand side is a very strong side and they are a very good bowling attack," Gunathilaka remarked on his team's turnaround in the series, according to AFP.
