Hilary Duff and now ex-fiancé Mike Comrie welcomed their son Luca in March 2012, and she only recently opened up about her personal life and the way the media treated her after she gave birth.
Even three years later, the actress and singer still remembers the comments people made about her post-baby body. "After I had Luca, I went out to, like, the breast-pump store-I was still huge-and I had a comfortable outfit on," Duff, 28, explained in the February issue of Redbook. "And the next day [in the tabloids] it was like, 'Hilary debuts post-baby bod!' And I was like, 'That's not a debut! That's an errand!' It was such a happy time that honestly I didn't care; it wasn't until later that I realized how mean and invasive it was."
She and Comrie filed for divorce back in February, and they said at the time that they wanted to remain best friends and continue to stay in each other's lives so they could be dedicated and loving parents to Luca, as HNGN previously reported. When asked if she'll ever get married again, she told Redbook, "I don't want to say I wouldn't get married again, but it's not important to me. I don't feel I would need to be married to have another child. If I felt strongly enough toward someone or if someone felt strongly about it, I might say okay. But it's not essential."
For now, Duff is just enjoying being a single mother, and that won't stop her from having kids in the future. "I want to have more kids and I'm looking forward to doing that, but I'm not in any rush," she told Parents Magazine in October 2012. "I think sometimes maybe if you start a little later you're in a hurry to get all the kids you want, and I have a little time to spread that out."
