The new lineup of next-generation gaming consoles from Sony and Microsoft are set to launch later this month. Microsoft and its Xbox One has been in direct competition with Sony's PlayStation 4 for quite some time. Now with both developers launching in tandem, many are wondering which console is right for them. Below is a list of features, specs and games that might help you make your decision.
Cost: Let's get this out of the way quickly. Sony's PlayStation 4 is significantly cheaper at $100 below the Xbox One, which is priced at $499. However, the extra cost factored into the Xbox One is widely considered to be the cost of the upgraded Kinect motion capture camera.
Kinect: The Xbox One's biggest leg above the competition is its new motion capture camera. According to Microsoft it is more responsive, more intuitive and sports unparalleled voice, vision and motion technology. It lets you command your Xbox One's commands from your voice. This is not to mention the fact that a lot of the upcoming titles for the console will incorporate the technology in one way or another. The PlayStation 4's motion capture does not stack up well enough against the Xbox One's, which explains the additional $100 price tag. However, many still aren't sold on the Kinect.

Controllers: The Xbox One controller is a completely updated version of the Xbox 360 model. The new impulse triggers deliver vibration feedback that immerses the user into every jolt, crash and bullet fired. The thumb sticks have been redone as well. Microsoft notes over 40 changes to the device. However, despite the Xbox One controller being better than ever before, the PlayStation 4 still has it beat. Mostly because of the trackpad. Like the Xbox One, the DualShock 4 controller is updated and tweaked for the better, but it is the only one of the two that has any revolutionary changes.
The Xbox One is due to hit store shelves on November 22. The PlayStation 4 will be released on November 15 in the U.S. and November 29 in Europe.
