Taylor Swift Dissed at YouTube Music Awards: Win Butler Channels Kanye West and Interrupts Thank You Speech (VIDEO)

Taylor Swift wasn't even at the first-ever YouTube Music Awards but the singer was definitely the talk of the evening. The video sharing site hosted their first awards show in New York City and presented Swift with an award for Phenomenon Video for "I Knew You Were Trouble."

The award was for the music video that generated the most fan videos and Swifties pulled through for the singer. Since Swift wasn't able to attend the award show some lucky fans accepted the honor on her behalf, Hollywood Life reports.

As the group of girls started to talk about how awesome Swift was Arcade Fire's frontman Win Butler interrupted their speech and grabbed the mic from them, recreating the infamous moment rapper Kanye West stole the spotlight from the singer at the 2009 Video Music Awards.

"I'ma let you finish," he said before jokingly suggesting that the award should have gone to the video for the "Harlem Shake."

"So whatever," he said before dropping the mic on the floor and walking away.

It seemed like everyone knew Butler was joking and laughed the entire time. Four years ago Swift was making a speech after she was awarded Best Female Video at the MTV VMAs. West thought the honor should have gone to Beyoncé for "Single Ladies" and jumped up on stage in the middle of Swift's speech to give the audience and viewers a piece of his mind

"Yo, Taylor," West said at the time. "I'm really happy for you, Imma let you finish but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!"

Since then he has had a change of heart and actually apologized to the "22" singer.

"You know what? I would not want some crazy drunk rock star cutting my daughter off also," he said on Ryan Seacrest's morning radio show. "But my daughter would 100-percent also be like, 'Yes Beyoncé did have the best video.' That's what my daughter would do!"

What do you think? Was Win Butler's interruption funny or inappropriate?
