Ritualistic Killing Not Ruled Out In 3-Year-Old's Alleged Murder

A possible "ritualistic sacrifice" is not being ruled out as to why a mother allegedly killed her 3-year-old son and stuffed him in a suitcase, says Florida's Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen, according to WPBF. The boy's body was found near Panama City Tuesday night in the water behind the mother's house.

Egypt Moneeck Robinson, 27, faces murder charges but has yet to be booked into jail due to her self-inflicted knife wounds that are being treated. While being taken into custody, Robinson made statements to the effect that she needed to save the boy from the end of the world.

"Robinson stated to me that, 'The world is going to flood and everyone was going to be drowned and I can't be drowned, therefore, I have to be shot in the head,'" a BCS officer quoted Robinson as saying, according to The Panama City News Herald. "'I was just trying to save my baby.'"

The officer explained that Robinson asked him if he believed in the biblical Noah's Ark.

"After she asked me that question, she stated, 'Everyone on Noah's Ark relived [sic] and my baby will relive [sic] again,' " BCS officer stated.

McKeithen says that investigators are unsure when the child died, but the investigation is ongoing, WPBF noted. It is believed that Dec. 26 is the last time that anyone besides Robinson saw the child.
