Jason Wingreen, who voiced bounty hunter Boba Fett in "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" and played Harry the bartender on "All In The Family," has passed away at the age of 95.
The actor, who has almost 200 credits listed on his IMDb, including roles in "Archie Bunker's Place" and "The Twilight Zone," died in his Los Angeles home on Christmas day after a brief illness, his son Ned confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
Even though Wingreen only recorded four lines and about 10 minutes of dialogue for his role as Boba Fett in "Empire Strikes Back," the masked and mysterious character still became a huge fan favorite, according to Rolling Stone. Because of this, from then on, several prequels were devoted to the character's backstory. Many didn't even know that Boba fett was played by Wingreen until recently, as he did not receive credit for voicing the character until 2000.
"I've signed a lot of photos of Boba Fett. I was living a quiet, peaceful, unencumbered life until that news broke," he said, according to Entertainment Weekly. "And when the news came out in a 'Star Wars' magazine, for which I'd done an interview, the letters just never stopped."
He is survived by his son Ned, his two grandchildren, his sister Harriet and her family.
